APICS Fox Valley Chapter!
Please enjoy the final newsletter of our 2019-2020 season
Hello, fellow APICS Fox Valley Chapter members!
I hope you are all hanging in there during these challenging times.
I would like to thank those of you who participated in our annual chapter elections. The elections were closed on April 4th and write-in vote recipient votes were confirmed. With this election we received approval to make a few changes to our by-laws which help to modernize our job titles and allow for proper support of the second student chapter supported by the Fox Valley Chapter of APICS. Normally, we would announce the results of our annual election at Top Management Night, but we were unable to hold this event in person this year. The chapter board takes these responsibilities very seriously and we feel it is important to be completely transparent with our members. Please take a moment to check out the results by clicking on Election results. Alternatively, you can go to our chapter website, www.apicsfv.org and click on the link under the Channel Partner logo.
Because we were unable to hold our Top Management Night event, I was unable to publicly thank the many individuals who keep this chapter running. I would like to take the time now to thank our 2019-2020 chapter board of directors. These individuals take time from their jobs and their families to voluntarily manage this chapter and serve the members and supply chain community. This year brought some new challenges to the team and I am extremely proud of the way they handled things. I would also like to thank the nomination committee for the work they did in identifying nominees for our annual elections. Finally, I would like to thank the 2019-2020 APICS instructors. Without them, we would not be able to provide review courses in house, online, and on campus making our certification journeys a whole lot more challenging. Thank you!
Our team also missed out on one of our favorite activities, recognizing and celebrating the accomplishments of our members and our students. We had two recipients of the newly re-named APICS Student Excellence Award in Supply Chain Management. One recipient was from our UWO student chapter and the other was from our new UWGB student chapter. Each student received a monetary award that was mailed out with a congratulatory letter in April. We also had 7 members obtain certification between March 1, 2019 and February 29, 2020 (5 new CPIMs and 2 new CSCPs). We are planning to recognize these newly certified members at a future event once we can assemble in person for a Professional Development Meeting. Until then, we can only say congratulations electronically.
Please check inside this newsletter for the details of the folks we want to recognize and celebrate.
If there is any way the APICS Fox Valley Chapter can support you in these challenging times, please let us know.
Please stay safe and healthy. Have a great summer and I look forward to seeing you some day in the future.

CBAR Platinum Status Awarded to APICS Fox Valley Chapter
"Chapter management excellence is an integral component to enhancing the member experience. Successful APICS chapters provide their members with opportunities for stellar education, career development, and networking.
The APICS Chapter Benchmarking and Reporting (CBAR) program recognizes chapters that have exceeded minimum standards and exemplify excellence in overall chapter management. We are proud to announce the APICS Fox Valley Chapter received the 2019 CBAR Platinum Award designation, an admirable accomplishment for an APICS chapter.
As a member of an APICS Platinum Award Winning Chapter, the CBAR designation signifies commitment to providing an exceptional membership experience." - ASCM 2019 Partner Development Committee
Once a chapter has achieved the Gold level for 5 consecutive years, they reach the Platinum level. If a Platinum level chapter slips for just one year, it must attain Gold level 5 consecutive years before it can again become a Platinum chapter. The Fox Valley chapter has been at the Platinum level for many years starting somewhere in the late 80’s or early 90’s. Something to be very proud of! Congratulations and Thank You to everyone past and present who has helped us achieve this accomplishment!
